My CNN Interview Re: Coronavirus Testing in Liverpool

By November 12, 2020No Comments

I was recently interviewed by CNN, when they came to Liverpool to report on the mass Coronavirus testing programme. I discussed with them my concerns that members of society who had already been excluded from any form of financial support from the Government would be put under further strain if required to self-isolate at home for 14 days, unable to work or earn a living.

📺 Here’s my interview on CNN, talking about the current mass Coronavirus testing programme here in Liverpool and what it means for small business owners like me and many others who get between very little and no government support whatsoever at all as part of what’s become known as @excludedukofficial .. On the one hand, I support testing and isolating from the rest of the community if you’re Covid positive or have been exposed to it. But on the other hand having lived from March to July with £0.00 Government support during Lockdown 1.0 and school closures, then another 3 weeks of school year group closures before half term… the thought of getting the whole family tested and possibly ALL having to stay at home and not leave for 14 days (unable to work & with no support) isn’t exactly filling me with enthusiasm to go and get tested! 🤔🤦‍♂️ .. (I should add that during the 3 week period before half term I did get tested as part of my participation in the King’s College London research, and got a negative result, so I’ve already recently been tested, as has my wife via her work in the NHS, so we’re definitely playing our part!)
